Miyazaki Izumi Black Tea Spring 2024
$20.50Price
A rare cultivar that is only grown by a handful of farmers nowadays, Izumi was registered in 1953 and originated from a Benihomare cultivar seedling! Benihomare is the very first Japanese black tea cultivar, which was itself selected from a seedling from Assam, India. This batch, grown in Miyazaki, brews a fragrant cup with ripe plums and scented wood, which evolves into floral notes with subsequent steeps. A flavourful black tea, with the ripe fruity-floral notes attesting to its distant Indian ancestry! No cream and sugar in this one please!
