Naturally Farmed Kamairicha Sping 2024

When we first tasted Kamairicha, we thought it reminded us of Genmaicha (where roasted rice is added into Japanese Green tea). Except this tea is unblended and the flavours & fragrance is completely inherent in the processing.  Considered an olden method of tea production that was introduced from China to Japan before the production of the now familiar steamed green teas e.g. sencha, this tea is 'pan fried ' instead of steamed, thus the wonderful roasted aroma. Together with the natural vegetal and rice like flavours of the tea leaves, the flavours reminds us of rice crackers that we grew up eating!  Brewed strongly, the tea boost a rounded floral astringency that is similar to typical strong flavours found in senchas. Brew lighter for a more apparent roasted fragrance!
